Mariamma (or Maria) develops and reviews content for SLTI's proprietary language assessments. Apart from writing test items, she wears a few different hats at SLTI: assisting with audio production and test transadaptation, providing client support for one of SLTI's testing platforms, and contributing to internal research and training.
If I weren't doing this job I'd be:
Trying my hand at screenwriting or studying translation strategies used in media and entertainment.
Small things that make my day better are:
Sunshine with a breeze, a hot cup of coffee or Lady Grey, and catching up with my colleagues.
An activity that makes me lose track of time:
Watching episodes of Psych.
One skill I would like to master:
Speaking comfortably in Turkish and/or Arabic, since I've studied both in college.
My go-to karaoke song is:
Most Bollywood songs released prior to 2016 (because I've seen very few Bollywood films since then).
